Professional Credentials
Dr. Ron Holman is the Founder and President of The Holman Group. The Holman Group is an employee assistance program and managed behavioral health care plan celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2009. Dr. Holman received his Master’s Degree from USC and his Ph.D. from the Professional School of Psychological Studies. He is also a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist in the State of California and has extensive experience in the field of substance abuse treatment. He is actively involved with Cri-Help, a residential substance abuse program, and in providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, and children. Dr. Holman is also a certified Substance Abuse counselor and NLP trainer. Over the past decade, he has provided NLP certificate programs and other trainings to hundreds of individuals and is committed to providing educational programs to therapists.
Kim Scott is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist in the State of California. Throughout her 25 year career, Ms. Scott has worked in a variety of clinical setting. She has worked in acute care hospitals with adolescents, residential facilities with drug addicted women and their children, and in an outpatient clinic. In Ms. Scott’s private practice she worked with individual, couples, families, children, and groups. Ms. Scott is also an experienced corporate trainer and has written numerous CE classes for therapists and insurance professionals. Ms. Scott supervised MFT Interns and worked as an executive at The Holman Group for over 14 years.
Ms. Jane Galvin, LCSW is Practical CE Seminars Consulting Social Worker. She is responsible for reviewing and assisting in the development of all new courses offered by Practical CE Seminars for licensed clinical social workers. She has a Master's degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin, is a licensed clinical social worker and has completed her training as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). She has extensive experience in a wide variety of clinical settings, including inpatient acute care, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and locked psychiatric facilities. Ms. Galvin currently serves as the Vice President of Client Services at The Holman Group for whom she has been employed over 22 years. In that capacity, she serves as the liaison between clients and The Holman Group. Additionally, she is widely recognized as an expert trainer in a variety of mental health areas, including stress management, violence in the workplace and diversity.
Dr. Sherri Tanferani is Practical CE Seminars Consulting Psychologist. In this role she is responsible for reviewing and assisting in the development of all new courses offered by Practical CE Seminars for licensed psychologists. She is also a Case Manager at The Holman Group and maintains a private practice in the San Fernando Valley working with individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Tanferani is an expert in eating disorders and counseling individuals who are considering Bariatric and Lap Band Surgery. She is experienced in Forensic Psychology, chemical dependency, law enforcement psychology, and the psychological effects of chronic medical conditions. Additionally, Dr. Tanferani is an experienced teacher and has taught college level courses. Dr. Tanferani received her Masters Degree from Humboldt State University and her Ph.D. from California Graduate Institute.
