This paper provides definitions of terms associated with substance-related disorders, mental disorders, co-occurring disorders, and programs. The purpose for which a definition is used and the context in which it is used will affect its meaning, dimensions, and precision.

- Be able to describe the four-quadrant model of disorders by severity.
