This course outlines the 12 overreaching principles for working with persons with co-occurring disorders (COD). These principles are intended to help guide systemic and clinical responses and can be used as benchmarks to assess whether plains in development, or programs in operation, are grounded in the field's best thinking.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
- Be able to describe the 12 principles that guide systems of care for people with COD.
- Learn the two major purposes of the principles.
- Understand the key definitions of terms used in the overarching principles.
- Learn to differentiate between the principles that guide systems or individual providers.
- Learn how to use the principles as benchmarks to assess your treatment plans.
- The therapist will be able to define the term "No Wrong Door" as it applies to service organizations.
